Stomach Problems

People are affected by many
a disease, some of them are very serious and fatal too.
However, there are many common diseases,
which are not that serious, but sufferings from them are a
lot. Common cough and cold, stomach
problems are to name a few among them.
Stomach Problem is the effect of disorder
of the digestion system and is very much common in the society.
Any one, irrespective of his status, poor or affluent, may
be affected by this problem.
Stomach problem is associated with one or
many disorders of the abdomen like stomach pain, some times
vomiting, heart burns and many other discomforts of the abdomen.
If not taken seriously, chronic stomach problem
leads to gastritis and ulcers which some times become fatal.
Due to the stomach problem, excess secretion
of stomach acids may happen which may lead to heart burns
and other problems.
Some times excess gas is formed in the abdomen
which belches it. This excess gas attempts to pass out through
rectum creating more discomfort to the person.
There are many reasons for stomach problems.
Unhealthy eating habits - like excess fats and spicy food
and unhealthy drinks - particularly water - create the stomach
problems. Uncontrolled life style like excess smoking and
drinking, late night sleep and inadequate sleep may also lead
to stomach problems.
There are prescription
drugs as well as over the counter medicines available
in the market for tackling stomach problems. Over the counter
medicines are, to some extent, effective and give some immediate
relief.
However, if the problem continues for more
than one day a doctor should be consulted.
Also frequent happenings of stomach problems
should be brought to the notice of the doctor for more serious
treatment.
As a precautionary measure, be cautious about
your food. It should be fresh, healthy, less spicy and controlled.
Take frequent small amount of meals instead of three big meals
a day. This will reduce overwork of your stomach and less
stomach acid secretion. Also eat slowly. Take at least a gallon
of clean potable water a day.
You should maintain upright position during
eating and at least 45 minutes after eating. When lying, try
elevating the head of bed by 6-8 inches.
Daily exercise and / or brisk walking will
stimulate your digestion system which may relieve you from
stomach problems. This will also keep you healthy and fit.
Last but not the least, avoid smoking and
reduce your alcoholic drinks to controlled amount.
